Gholson came into Tuesday's match having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-46 win over Cranfills Gap on Tuesday. The win was just what Gholson needed coming off of a 63-26 defeat in their prior contest.
Gholson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aaron Salinas led the charge by scoring 12 points. Another player making a difference was Cayden Thomas, who scored 11 points.
Gholson's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-11. As for Cranfills Gap, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-8.
Gholson will be playing at home against Mount Calm at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mount Calm and Gholson are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Cranfills Gap, they will head out on the road to square off against Aquilla at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
