The NCSSM: Durham Unicorns had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They took down Franklin Academy 45-29. That result was just more of the same for these two, as NCSSM: Durham also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
NCSSM: Durham had a senior duo take command as Maren Donlon scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and Parker Wildman scored 13 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wildman has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Franklin Academy still got an impressive performance from Sarah Godwin, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. That was a full 62.1% of Franklin Academy's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
NCSSM: Durham's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Franklin Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. NCSSM: Durham will take on the Firebirds at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Falls Lake is looking to tack on another W to their nine-game streak on the road. As for Franklin Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully East Wake Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
