The Heritage Academy Heroes are taking a road trip to take on the Gilbert Classical Academy Spartans at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
Heritage Academy can't be too happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season away from home on Wednesday. They came up short against Chandler Prep, falling 11-2. The Heroes have struggled against the Titans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Heritage Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaias Ruiz, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Gilbert Classical Academy made sure to put some runs up on the board against Trivium Prep on Friday. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Crimson Knights.
Beckett Elliot spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up 11 Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hobey Hartman, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025. Max Fioresi was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Gilbert Classical Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Trivium Prep only posted a batting average of .150.
Heritage Academy came up short against Gilbert Classical Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2025, falling 7-4. Can the Heroes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
