Make it nine blowout wins for Mount Notre Dame this season. They took their contest at home on Thursday with ease, bagging a 66-27 win over Mercy McAuley. Given Mount Notre Dame's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Mercy McAuley is ranked 373rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mount Notre Dame got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kailee Bransford out in front who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Laila Harrison, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Mount Notre Dame has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Mercy McAuley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Notre Dame will square off against Centerville at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Centerville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Mercy McAuley, they will head out on the road to take on Summit Country Day at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Summit Country Day is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
