King William has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Thomas Jefferson Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th. One thing working in King William's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matches.
King William pushed their score all the way to 59 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 70-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carver College and Career Academy. While losing is never fun, King William can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 335th, while Carver College and Career Academy is ranked 157th).
Meanwhile, Thomas Jefferson scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They came out on top against Amelia County by a score of 75-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Cameron Sampson was his usual excellent self, scoring 34 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Torel Clark, who scored 11 points.
King William's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Thomas Jefferson, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season.
Things could have been worse for King William, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 69-55 loss to Thomas Jefferson in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can King William avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
