The Y Yuma put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They managed a 51-46 win over Rangely.
Caddis Robinson was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with five rebounds. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Rayl, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Miah Wren, who scored 18 points. Wren scored a full 39.1% of Rangely's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Annika Cantrell was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 17 rebounds.
Y's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Rangely, their loss ended a eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-1.
Y won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Limon at 4:00 p.m. on December 16th. Hopefully Limon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Friday. Rangely won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Sterling at 1:00 p.m. on December 16th. Sterling will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 181st, while Rangely is ranked 31st).
