The Fort Chiswell Pioneers had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past Eastern Montgomery 69-13 on the road. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Fort Chiswell also won the last time the pair played back in February.
Blair Jackson was the offensive standout of the contest as she scored 27 points along with 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Sadie Robinson, who scored 13 points.
Fort Chiswell's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Eastern Montgomery, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Fort Chiswell will head out on the road to face off against Auburn at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Eastern Montgomery, they will be playing at home against Giles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
