West Mecklenburg is 0-7 against Chambers since November of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Friday. The West Mecklenburg Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Chambers Cougars at 7:30  p.m. Hopefully West Mecklenburg focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 21 on Wednesday.
 West Mecklenburg struggled with  three-point shooting accuracy on Wednesday (Sugar Creek was 22% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. West Mecklenburg took a  54-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sugar Creek.
 The losing side was boosted by   Cam Higgins, who  scored 16 points along with 4  steals. Higgins is absolutely dominating the  steal category: he's  posted at least two every time he's  taken the court this season.  Chase Mcdonald was another key contributor,  scoring 9 points along with 5  assists.
 Meanwhile,  even though Caldwell Academy scored an imposing 62 points on Saturday, Chambers still came out on top. Chambers walked away with a  70-62  victory over Caldwell Academy.
 Chambers can attribute much of their success to   Tarris Bouie, who  scored 15 points, and   Maurio Hanson II, who  dropped  a double-double on 27 points and 10  rebounds. Hanson II is absolutely dominating the  rebound category: he's  posted at least eight every time he's  taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was  Markus Kerr, who  scored 4 points along with 7  rebounds and 3  steals.
 West Mecklenburg's victory bumped their  season record to 3-2 while Sugar Creek's loss dropped theirs to 3-4.
This contest  is shaping up to be a blowout:  West Mecklenburg hasn't had any problem running up the score this season,  having  only  averaged 59.4 points per game. It's a different story for Chambers, though, as   they've been averaging  only 65.8  per game. The only thing between West Mecklenburg and another offensive beatdown is Chambers.  West Mecklenburg was taken down by Chambers 88-33 when the teams last played  back in January. Can West Mecklenburg avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
