The Lawrenceburg Tigers were the 50-33 winner over the East Central Trojans when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Lawrenceburg fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 43-41.
Lawrenceburg's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cooper Bobo, who scored ten points along with two steals. Ben Cornett was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
East Central's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carson Pieczonka, who scored 17 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Maxwell, who scored seven points along with five assists and three steals.
Lawrenceburg's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for East Central, they pushed their record up to 10-10 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lawrenceburg will take on the Shiners at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for East Central, they will head out on the road to challenge the Bull Dogs at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Indiana (Columbus North is ranked 219th, while the Trojans are ranked 206th).
