The Parrish Community Bulls will head out to square off against the Palmetto Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Parrish Community is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
Palmetto will be up against a hot Parrish Community squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Parrish Community came out on top against Hardee by a score of 6-3 on Thursday.
Daniel Norbeck tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over 5.2 innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February.
At the plate, Jayden Peters was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Tyler Cripe, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Palmetto didn't have quite enough to beat Sarasota on Thursday and fell 3-1. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Chase Nye made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Keaton Love, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.
Parrish Community's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Palmetto, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.
Palmetto's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Parrish Community has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .455. It's a different story for Palmetto, though, as they've only averaged .357. Will they be able to contain Parrish Community's hitters?
Parrish Community came up short against Palmetto when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 6-3. Can Parrish Community avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
