WARREN, N.J. - the Red Devils scored 28 points in the third quarter to secure a big 42-6 victory over Watchung Hills Regional (Warren, N.J.) on Saturday.
Ridge scored on a
Conor Hughes touchdown pass to
Ryan Bell, a touchdown run by
Nick Franzese, a passing touchdown and a
Danny Phillips touchdown run in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Hughes to
Michael Dunsheath in the first quarter, RHS led 14-0 at the half.
The Basking Ridge school grew its lead to 36 points entering the fourth quarter. The Red Devils scored four times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by Hughes to Bell.
With the win Ridge extended its winning streak to nine games. Ridge defeated Hunterdon Central 27-13 last week.
Watchung Hills Regional's lone touchdown came on a pass in the third quarter.
The Warriors came in giving up 14.6 points per game this season. Watchung Hills Regional struggled against Ridge's offense, which entered the game scoring 33.9 points per game. The Basking Ridge school went into the matchup giving up only 13.4 points per game. The six points that WHR ended with were well below its average of 21.0 coming into the game.
