In what's become a running theme this season, the Destin Sharks gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 66-21 win over Freeport. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Destin has posted since December 5, 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Destin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyler Flynt, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Bryson Nixon was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.
Kye Tackett and Zakade Schiro certainly did their best on Monday to try and avoid the loss. Tackett scored seven points, while Schiro scored two points along with two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Freeport struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Destin racked up 17 assists.
Destin has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Freeport, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Destin will challenge Paxton at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Paxton will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for Freeport, they will head out on the road to take on Altha at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Altha is ranked 626th, while Freeport is ranked 627th).
