The Madison Southern Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 76-46 loss at the hands of Great Crossing. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Madison Southern has scored all season.
It was another big night for Malachi Moreno, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 16 rebounds for Great Crossing. Moreno hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Junius Burrell, who scored 13 points along with six assists and three steals.
Madison Southern's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Great Crossing, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 20-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madison Southern will take on Jackson County at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Great Crossing, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Frankfort at 7:30 p.m. Frankfort will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings (they are ranked 245th, while Great Crossing is ranked first).
