Baseball Recap: Greenville Christian Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Greenville Christian Academy proved they can win big last Monday (they won by 14) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Wilson Christian Academy Chargers 4-2. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 10-5 loss the last time these two teams met.

Eli Suggs made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Suggs was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Suggs wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jonathan Williams, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Williams has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Ryder Brown also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

The win was the third in a row for Greenville Christian Academy, bringing their record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Wilson Christian Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Greenville Christian Academy will head out on the road to challenge Eastern Christian HomeSchool at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wilson Christian Academy, they will host Living Water Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Wilson Christian Academy is facing Living Water Christian at the right time seeing as Living Water Christian is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
