Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Scott

Scott entered their tilt with Wayne on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pioneers, sneaking past 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Skyhawks have posted against the Pioneers since March 16, 2023.

Carter McClung made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Louden White was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ryan Neal, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Scott was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wayne only posted a batting average of .240.

Scott's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-1-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Wayne, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Scott will square off against Point Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wayne, they will challenge Spring Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
