Meanwhile,  there's no place like home for Plainfield Central, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  on Saturday. Everything went their way against Joliet Central on Monday as they made off with  a  16-1 win. That looming  16-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wildcats yet this  season.
 Kaylynn Howe looked comfortable as she  struck out nine batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Ava Sommerfeld was  incredible,  firing off three  home runs and eight  RBI while going 3-for-3. Those  three  hits gave  her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Laney Barbic, who  went 1-for-4 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and two  RBI.
 Plainfield Central  lost a few balls and  finished the game with three  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've managed all season.
 Plainfield Central's record now sits at 6-8-1. As for Plainfield South, their  loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-7.
