Baseball Recap: Salinas Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Salinas barely beat Monterey the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cowboys never let the Dores get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Saturday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 3-2 victory on Thursday.

The team relied heavily on Quentin Dominguez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Salinas' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 6-10 when he doesn't). J.T. Lopez was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Salinas is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Monterey, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-14.
