The Morgan Huskies will play host again and welcome the Haddam-Killingworth Cougars, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Morgan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
Morgan scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 78-29 win over Cromwell. Morgan has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season.
Ava Johnson and Sadie Passante were among the main playmakers for Morgan as the former scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals and the latter scored 21 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Passante has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Liliana Luciani, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Haddam-Killingworth's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were beaten by East Hampton 65-31. While losing is never fun, Haddam-Killingworth can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the Bellringers are ranked 12th).
Morgan has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Haddam-Killingworth, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6.
Morgan was able to grind out a solid victory over the Cougars in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 38-31. Does Morgan have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
