Basketball Recap: Moshannon Valley Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Moshannon Valley hadn't done well against Glendale recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Moshannon Valley Black Knights/Damsels enjoyed a cozy 64-45 win over the Glendale Vikings. This was a revenge game for the Black Knights/Damsels: when they faced off against the Vikings back in December of 2024, they had to take a 51-41 defeat.

Leading Moshannon Valley to victory were Jensen Hansel and Bo Washell. Hansel went 8 for 16 en route to 23 points, while Washell made all 6 shots he took for 17 points and seven boards. Hansel has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Kaden Kephart was another key player, putting up nine points and six assists.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was David Frowner, who posted 14 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Frowner a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Joey Kitko, who put up 12 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Moshannon Valley's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11. As for Glendale, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Moshannon Valley has already played their next game, a 62-47 loss against Williamsburg on the 24th. As for Glendale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 65-38 defeat against Curwensville on the 24th.
