The Olympus Titans will head out on the road to face off against the Alta Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
While Olympus couldn't quite beat Brighton on Tuesday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 24-point defeat they were dealt last Tuesday. Olympus fell just short of Brighton by a score of 51-49. Olympus has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their loss, Olympus saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Keily Trabanino, who scored 15 points along with four steals, was perhaps the best of all. Trabanino has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Joss Baker, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of 11 wins, Alta's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against West, falling 65-38. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Alta has scored all season.
Olympus now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Alta, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-3.
Olympus came up short against Alta when the teams last played back in January, falling 60-48. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Alta's Leafa Niumeitolu, who scored 16 points along with four steals.
