Jake Bartnikowski made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Elio Castaldi, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Old Forge's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 3-7 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Luke Olivieri, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Old Forge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Everything went Honesdale's way against Old Forge in their previous meeting back in April, as Honesdale made off with a 16-6 win. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
