The West Harrison Hurricanes will face off against the Canton Academy Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Harrison will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
West Harrison took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Horn Lake with a sharp 12-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Hurricanes, who have now won four games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Dezi Curley and Cameron Sandel were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Curley pitched two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Meanwhile, Sandel pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because West Harrison is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise. At bat, Curley got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Sandel went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits Sandel has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, Reese Parker was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of West Harrison's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 2-4 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Pena, who earned two RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
West Harrison was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
