Crestwood and Berkshire are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Red Devils will take on the Badgers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Crestwood is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Crestwood came up short against Chagrin Falls and fell 6-3.
Hailey Pesarchick made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Johnson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one double.
Meanwhile, Berkshire waltzed into their contest on Monday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came out on top against the Rovers by a score of 4-0. Give the Badgers' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.
Moira Wonders made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Whitney Davis was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Berkshire's record is now 9-6. As for Crestwood, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Crestwood has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Berkshire struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Crestwood suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Berkshire in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
