After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Bailey Walker to
Ryan Golden in the first quarter,
Lake Cormorant (Miss.) was up 14-0 at the half.
Lake Cormorant expanded its lead to 24 points entering the fourth quarter. LC scored two times in the third, including once on a field goal by
Andy Hernandez.
Walker and Golden were an excellent passing duo during the game. Golden has now caught three touchdowns this season, while Walker has thrown eight.
Horn Lake's only touchdown came on an 11-yard run by
Malik Hawkins in the fourth quarter.
Lake Cormorant got revenge for last year's 28-21 loss to
Horn Lake (Miss.) with the victory.
The loss comes after Horn Lake defeated Center Hill 55-6 last week.
In a non-conference game next week Horn Lake (1-1) takes on Rosa Fort, and Lake Cormorant (2-0) will go up against DeSoto Central also in a non-conference game.
