Drew Jennings looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Brownsburg's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Colin McNeer, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That stolen base was McNeer's first of the season. Another was Canyon Koonce, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Terre Haute North Vigo fell victim to Terre Haute South Vigo and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Braves by a score of 2-0. That makes it the first time this season the Patriots have let down their home crowd.
Kendall Gregg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Briar Goda was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one double.
Brownsburg has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Terre Haute North Vigo, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 10-7.
Brownsburg took their win against Terre Haute North Vigo when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
