Gibsonburg has gone a perfect 3-0 against Northwood recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Golden Bears will square off against the Rangers at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Gibsonburg took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Lakota 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Golden Bears have posted since May 16, 2024.

Meanwhile, Northwood hadn't done well against Cardinal Stritch recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Rangers came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 7-4. The game was the first time the Rangers have beaten the Cardinals on their field since April 19, 2022.

Ethan Leonard was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Northwood is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-10 otherwise. Leonard was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, Michael Kretz was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Gibsonburg's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Northwood, their record is now 4-11.

Everything went Gibsonburg's way against Northwood in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Gibsonburg made off with a 12-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Bears since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
