Rock Canyon has gone 9-1 against Douglas County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Rock Canyon Jaguars will head out on the road to take on the Douglas County Huskies at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Rock Canyon's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
Last Friday, Rock Canyon was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 62-56 to ThunderRidge.

Despite the loss, Rock Canyon had strong showings from Jacob David, who went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points, and Davis May, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave May a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Cooper Ellwood, who posted two points and four steals.
Meanwhile, Douglas County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 61-59 heartbreaker at the hands of Mountain Range. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Huskies have suffered since February 21, 2024.
Rock Canyon will need focus on slowing down Roman Saiz, one of several Douglas County players who made an impact when they last played. He went 6 for 13 en route to 13 points in addition to five assists and five boards. Saiz is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. Vaughn Baldwin was another key player, going 5 of 10 on his way to 11 points and three steals.
Douglas County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Rock Canyon, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Rock Canyon has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 22.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Douglas County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.3 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Rock Canyon didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Douglas County in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 79-74 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Douglas County's Reilly Guerra, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be easier for Rock Canyon to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
