Pine Lake Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully the Lions like a good challenge.
Even though Pine Lake Prep has not done well against the Eagles recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pine Lake Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Wes Statzer, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Lucas Strickfaden was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Langtree Charter's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 14th straight loss. They were dealt a 85-46 loss at the hands of Mountain Island Charter.
Pine Lake Prep's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. Pine Lake Prep took their victory against the Lions in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 80-56. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Langtree Charter's Anthony Nesbit, who scored 28 points. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Pine Lake Prep still be able to contain Nesbit? There's only one way to find out.
