Jamestown is 9-1 against Grove City since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Muskies will be playing at home against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Jamestown is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
On Thursday, Jamestown needed a bit of extra time to put away Franklin. They skirted past the Knights 9-7.

Miranda Biles was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 15 batters over eight innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off 12 hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Jamestown let Grace Wingard and Kinlie Kirila run wild. Wingard went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Kirila got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most stolen bases Wingard has posted since back in May of 2024. Hannah Scriven was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Grove City won against Franklin last Monday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Eagles walked away with an 8-3 win over Slippery Rock. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.
The team relied heavily on Remi Stillwagon, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Autumn Cook, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Grove City hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Jamestown pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Grove City, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Jamestown has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Grove City struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Jamestown came up short against Grove City in their previous meeting back in April, falling 6-3. Will the Muskies have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
