There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. A special shoutout goes to Bowling Green's senior Beau Buchanan, who scored five total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Can't Touch This
Bowling Green got a 68 - 8 win over Grayson County last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Beau Buchanan. Buchanan threw for 235 yards and five touchdowns. In fact, our algorithms singled out Buchanan as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.

It was a battle of top-notch squads when DeSales (5th in the power rankings) took on North Hardin (23rd) last week. DeSales narrowly escaped with a win as it sidled past North Hardin 27 - 24. DeSales had two big standouts, as junior Antione Johnson ran for 141 yards and also punched in two touchdowns, while senior Aaron Pfaadt threw for 167 yards and gained 75 yards on the ground.
No Stoppin 'Em
The MaxPreps rankings indicated that Mayfield would come out the decided victor last week, and the rankings were spot on. It put the hurt on Murray with a conclusive 63 - 28 victory. That 35-point margin marks the most Mayfield has won by all season. At 91 total points, this was the highest scoring power ranking game of the week.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Scott County (8th in the power rankings) and Frederick Douglass (2nd). Frederick Douglass will be strutting in after a win while Scott County will be stumbling in from a defeat. Scott County has never lost back-to-back this season, but Frederick Douglass hopes to show it that there is a first time for everything.
