The Blue Streaks were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 28-27 to the West Morris Central Wolfpack. Despite the loss, Warren Hills Regional still got an impressive performance from Cohl Stevens, who rushed for 148 yards and two TDs on only 15 carries, and also threw for 125 yards and one touchdown.
Warren Hills Regional didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Michael Dufner.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Brody Mansolino and Brendan Dwyer. Mansolino rushed for 110 yards while Dwyer rushed for 31 yards and one score. That rushing touchdown marked the first that Dwyer has punched in this season.
The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 2-2. As for West Morris Central, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Looking ahead, Warren Hills Regional will host West Morris Mendham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Morris Central, they will head out on the road to square off against Randolph at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
