After a string of eight wins, the Milton-Union Bulldogs's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a hard 49-31 fall against Miami East. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Milton-Union in their matchups with Miami East: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite the loss, Milton-Union had strong showings from Ava Berberich, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds, and Jenna Brumbaugh, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Brumbaugh has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.
Milton-Union's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-3. As for Miami East, they pushed their record up to 16-0 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milton-Union the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Dayton Christian at 6:45 p.m. on January 22nd. Dayton Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 577th, while Milton-Union is ranked 192nd). As for Miami East, they will be playing at home against Anna at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Anna has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
