It was a good run, but the Battle Creek Academy Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell to Lawrence 42-36. Battle Creek Academy lost against Lawrence in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 62-29 score last time.
Ben McCaw continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lawrence, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. McCaw hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Alex Gardner, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Battle Creek Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Lawrence, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8.
Battle Creek Academy and Will Carleton Academy will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lawrence won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Bloomingdale at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Bloomingdale has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1.
