Russell is 2-8 against Rowan County since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Russell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
Russell barely beat East Carter the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Red Devils were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Raiders on Monday. The Red Devils haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Jacob Toliver was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Dawson Wada was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Eli Craft also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Rowan County came up short against Blazer on Monday, falling 13-3.
Rowan County saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Havens, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Rowan County's loss dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Russell, their record now sits at 17-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Russell has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Rowan County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Russell's way against Rowan County when the teams last played back in April, as Russell made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
