The Claiborne Bulldogs will take on the Volunteer Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Claiborne is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.

While Claiborne didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Thomas Walker with a sharp 14-2 win on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Hunter Greer made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.

In other batting news, Claiborne got a massive performance out of Garrett Keiter, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Noah Burke was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.

Claiborne always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Volunteer lost 12-2 to West on Saturday. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Volunteer's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Claiborne, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
