It was a good run, but Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 51-41 to Bishop Noland Episcopal Day. While losing is never fun, Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while Bishop Noland Episcopal Day is ranked 67th).
Jordan Buckhalter was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with five assists and four steals for Bishop Noland Episcopal Day. Buckhalter continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Charlie Kuehn was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-9. As for Bishop Noland Episcopal Day, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool will take on Faith Training Christian Academy at 8:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Bishop Noland Episcopal Day, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Shreveport HomeSchool Sports at 6:30 p.m. on January 9th.
