The Coolidge Yellowjackets will head out on the road to face off against the Avalon Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
After a string of seven wins, Coolidge's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 55-54 to Penelope.
Meanwhile, Avalon ended up a good deal behind Penelope on Tuesday and lost 57-40. While losing is never fun, Avalon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1521st, while Penelope is ranked 685th).
Coolidge's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6. As for Avalon, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
Coolidge was dealt a bruising 63-26 loss at the hands of Avalon in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Coolidge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
