Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 18 to 9 on the offensive boards, a fact the Colusa RedHawks proved on Friday. They walked away with a 61-48 victory over Oroville. With that victory, Colusa brought their scoring average up to 53 points per game.
Colusa got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sutter Moss out in front who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 21 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jace Mackaben, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds.
Oroville's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jantzen Demitrial, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds. Kevin Taylor was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Colusa now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Oroville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Colusa will be playing in front of their home fans against West Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully West Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Saturday. Oroville will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against East Nicolaus at 7:00 p.m. on December 4th.
