The Discovery Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Sebring Blue Streaks at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Discovery is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Discovery suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They took a serious blow against McKeel Academy, falling 53-12. Discovery was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-8.
Meanwhile, Sebring put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Auburndale 55-14 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Sebring has posted since November 21, 2023.
Sebring's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Shamari Jones led the charge by scoring 11 points along with six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrianna Maldonado, who scored 11 points.
Discovery's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Sebring, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.
