The Edgerton Bulldogs will face off against the Edon Bombers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Friday. Edgerton fell just short of Swanton by a score of 7-5.
Edgerton got a good showing from Parker Elden, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. What's more, Elden gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March.
On the hitting side, Cory Herman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Noah Weaver was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Edon was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They lost 12-2 to Wauseon. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bombers have suffered since April 26, 2024.
Edon saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zayne Oberlin, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Edgerton's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Edon, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.
Everything went Edgerton's way against Edon in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, as Edgerton made off with a 12-5 victory. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Bombers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
