The Academy of Careers & Exploration Eagle scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 77-60 win over Lucerne Valley. The win was just what Academy of Careers & Exploration needed coming off of a 95-33 defeat in their prior contest.
Lucerne Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Derrick Tyler and Christian Barajas. Tyler scored 32 points along with five rebounds and five steals, while Barajas dropped a double-double on 14 points and 19 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tyler has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Robert Sepulveda, who scored three points along with 13 rebounds and six assists.
Academy of Careers & Exploration's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Lucerne Valley, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Academy of Careers & Exploration will take on Apple Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Apple Valley Christian is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Lucerne Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Silver Valley at 7:00 p.m.
