In what's become a running theme this season, Providence Classical gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They breezed by Fletcher at home to the tune of 57-12. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-5.
Providence Classical got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Xan Rahalawicz out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 steals. Rahalawicz has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Bryson Lahr, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Providence Classical and bumps their season record up to 11-5. As for Fletcher, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Providence Classical won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Jackson Day at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Jackson Day is ranked 509th in North Carolina, while Providence Classical is ranked 503rd in South Carolina). Fletcher won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Carolina Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Carolina Christian is on a six-game streak of home losses, Fletcher an eight-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
