New Town had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They claimed a resounding 34-6 victory over Patapsco at home. The result was nothing new for New Town, who have now won six matches by 25 points or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, Milford Mill Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over C. Milton Wright on Friday, taking the game 20-7.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Milford Mill Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Damon Ferguson jr., who rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Another player making a difference was Deshawn Purdie, who threw for 153 yards and a touchdown.
New Town has yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 8-2 record. As for Milford Mill Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
New Town might still be hurting after the 37-14 defeat they got from Milford Mill Academy when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Thankfully for New Town, Marquis Edmond ii (who rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
