After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Noblesville, the Hamilton Heights Huskies were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They blew past Clinton Central 71-45. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Hamilton Heights also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
Hamilton Heights was led to victory by Carson Felger and Tillman Etchison. Felger scored 9 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 steals, while Etchison scored 25 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Etchison has scored at least 25% of Hamilton Heights' points. Another player making a difference was Phoenix Vondersaar, who scored 8 points.
Despite the defeat, Clinton Central saw an underclassman step up: Creed Mennen scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Davison, who scored 9 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
The win got Hamilton Heights back to even at 1-1. As for Clinton Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hamilton Heights will take on New Castle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully New Castle focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday. As for Clinton Central, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Fountain Central at 7:30 p.m.
