South Stokes is 0-2 against Starmount since October of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The South Stokes Sauras will head out on the road to face off against the Starmount Rams at 7:00 p.m. South Stokes is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, South Stokes beat North Stokes 28-21.
Meanwhile, Starmount was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past East Wilkes 35-6 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-0.
Luke Collins looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 151 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Starmount also got help from Jadon Hurt-Bailey who showed off his sure hands for 97 receiving yards.
Their wins bumped South Stokes to 2-7 and Starmount to 7-1.
South Stokes took a serious blow against Starmount in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 55-6. Can South Stokes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
