The biggest upset of the week belonged to Wynnewood, who took down 63rd ranked Wayne, 35-34. Jace Brown threw for 250 yards and two touchdowns and ran for six yards in the win.
The Savages extended the longest winning streak in A District 5 this week by beating the Bulldogs, 35-34. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Wynnewood's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Savages feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Brown has thrown for 1286 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, while Pete Carter has 13 catches for 398 yards. Trey Knowles leads the league in rushing with 1011 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Wewoka takes on Brad O'Steen's team. The Tigers are in third place, while the Savages are in first place.
There should be lots of points scored when Wewoka and Wynnewood face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Tommy Bare's team comes in having scored 235 this season, while the Savages have scored 426. The Tigers scored 61 points last week as they bested Regent Prep.
Wewoka took down Regent Prep 61-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.
