James Monroe has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Meadow Bridge Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully James Monroe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
Last Friday, James Monroe strolled past the Crusaders with points to spare, taking the game 45-31.
James Monroe's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Brady Baker, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, and Ryan Cole, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Baker is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Ridgeway, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Meadow Bridge was beaten by the Bobcats 102-41 on Friday. Meadow Bridge has not had much luck with the Bobcats recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
James Monroe's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.6 points per game. As for Meadow Bridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
Everything came up roses for James Monroe against the Wildcats in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 94-23 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for James Monroe since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
