Cory scored a full 40% of Westview's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Hope Bortner, who scored 7 points along with 4 steals.
Churubusco's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bridget Timbrook, who scored 15 points along with 6 assists and 5 rebounds. The game was Timbrook's third in a row with at least ten points. Mallory Schaefer was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Westview bumped their record down to 0-9 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Churubusco, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westview will face off against Garrett at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Garrett is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. As for Churubusco, they will head out on the road to face off against Eastside at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Eastside presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Churubusco in Indiana (Eastside is ranked 46th, while Churubusco is ranked 287th).
