Forrest is 1-9 against Cascade since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Forrest Rockets will stay at home for another game and welcome the Cascade Champions at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Forrest focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
Forrest posted their closest victory yet this season on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Community and snuck past 53-50.
Tristan Goad and Ben Villazon were among the main playmakers for Forrest as the former dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds and the latter scored 18 points along with five steals. Jimmy Bond was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.
Cascade suffered their biggest loss since December 5, 2023 two weeks ago. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 71-48 walloping at the hands of Cannon County. While losing is never fun, Cascade can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 286th, while Cannon County is ranked 127th).
Forrest's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-14. As for Cascade, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
Forrest couldn't quite finish off Cascade in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 and fell 39-36. Can Forrest avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
