After flying high against the San Miguel Vipers last Thursday, the Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions came back down to earth. Pusch Ridge Christian Academy fell just short of Thatcher by a score of 57-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mason Hoke, who scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Lambe, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Pusch Ridge Christian Academy were working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thatcher only racked up seven assists.
It was another big night for Christian Carter, who scored 28 points along with four steals for Thatcher. That makes it three consecutive games in which Carter has scored at least a third of Thatcher's points. Wyatt Nicholas was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Thatcher, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-7.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Thatcher also has no future games currently scheduled.
